1f7fc1f76a FIX Remove instances of lines longer than 120c 
The entire framework repo (with the exception of system-generated files) has been amended to respect the 120c line-length limit.  This is in preparation for the enforcement of this rule with PHP_CodeSniffer.

5911abc0f6 API CHANGE Removed prototype.js style $() alias usage for document.getElementById() to avoid confusion with the more common jQuery() alias. 
API CHANGE Removed several unsed JavaScript globals: sprintf(), Number.prototype.CURRENCIES, Number.prototype.toCurrency(), String.prototype.ucfirst(), jQuery.fn.clearFields(), jQuery.fn.clearInputs()
MINOR Removed prototype_improvements.js and jquery_improvements.js files, now contained in individual component code (or removed altogether)

a7d0b685ec BUGFIX: Validator::requiredField() should check the required field submitted value is an array before check strlen(). Some fields submitted as an array, e.g. MoneyField (from r109155)

969a95eff7 BUGFIX Removed hardcoded field value removals in Form->validate() for creditcard info 
ENHANCEMENT Optionally returning JSON data or HTML form representations from Form submissions if Form->validate() fails (if HTTP Accept is set to 'application/json')
ENHANCEMENT Limiting usage of prototype-validation responses in Form->validate() to form instances with $javascriptValidationHandler=='prototype' (which is the default setting). This enables us to return richer JSON data on validation errors without making assumptions about javascript methods on clientside through eval'ed responses (specifically Validator.js->validationError())
API CHANGE Deprecated Validator->getError() and Validator->getCombinedError(), use getErrors() instead

8f0979eb78 BUGFIX Using Validator::getJavascriptValidationHandler() to determine instance settings, and fall back to static defaults in Validator->includeJavascriptValidation(), instead of setting instance-specific parameters in __construct() calls. This means Validator.js won't be included if handlers are globally disabled.

75ae9859ae API CHANGE: Added Validator::set_javascript_validation_handler() and ->setJavscriptValidatorHandler(), to choose a different way of dealing with javascript validation. Currently 'none' and 'prototype' are the only legal options, but 'jquery' would be an obvious thing to implement.

2d9c833de5 Merged [47028]: Encountered a problem with Form::formHtmlContent not always including javascript validation, so added a call to includeJavascriptValidation on the validator in Form::formHtmlContent. Also modified Validator to notify the form that the client-side validation JavaScript has already been included. This way it isn't included twice.
