From c5ed9a9f42105949c490f0af088096a05d646c9b Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: bakkeby Date: Fri, 22 Sep 2023 18:13:28 +0200 Subject: [PATCH] Makefile: remove the options target The Makefile used to suppress output (by using @), so this target made sense at the time. But the Makefile should be simple and make debugging with less abstractions or fancy printing. The Makefile was made verbose and doesn't hide the build output, so remove this target. Prompted by a question on the mailing list about the options target. ref. https://git.suckless.org/dwm/commit/9f8855343c881bdc01b9fff5b956537ba1106b76.html --- Makefile | 10 ++-------- 1 file changed, 2 insertions(+), 8 deletions(-) diff --git a/Makefile b/Makefile index f4be9d1..a71a856 100644 --- a/Makefile +++ b/Makefile @@ -6,13 +6,7 @@ include config.mk SRC = drw.c dmenu.c stest.c util.c OBJ = $(SRC:.c=.o) -all: options dmenu stest - -options: - @echo dmenu build options: - @echo "CFLAGS = $(CFLAGS)" - @echo "LDFLAGS = $(LDFLAGS)" - @echo "CC = $(CC)" +all: dmenu stest .c.o: $(CC) -c $(CFLAGS) $< @@ -64,4 +58,4 @@ uninstall: $(DESTDIR)$(MANPREFIX)/man1/dmenu.1\ $(DESTDIR)$(MANPREFIX)/man1/stest.1 -.PHONY: all options clean dist install uninstall +.PHONY: all clean dist install uninstall
